अभ्यासवैराग्याभ्यां तन्निरोधः ॥१२॥
abhyāsa-vairāgya-ābhyāṁ tan-nirodhaḥ ||12||
[JW] 1.12 The restriction of them is by [means of] practice and passionlessness.
[SS] 1.12 These mental modifications are restrained by practice and non-attachment. [p18]

(अभ्यास, abhyāsa) = assiduousness; cheerfulness; practice
(वैराग्य, vairāgya) = imperturbability; indifference
(आभ्यां, ābhyāṁ) = both
(तन्, tan) = this
(निरोध, nirodha) = tranquility; tranquility of all mutable things, i.e. attaining the state of yoga.
